Church History

For approximately 102 years, St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church has served the community of Magnolia Texas.  St. Matthews  was first organized between 1912 and 1918 by Rev. Ed Scott.  The Church was established at what was once a Lumber Mill site in Magnolia.  The old structure was built in 1945, and moved to it's present site at the corner of fm 149 and fm1488 on October 22, 1960.   The building of the current structure was completed in the year 2000 and dedicated on September 19, 2000.......more
